Logistics Manager (Tech-Savvy / Customer Delivery Alerts Focus)

Iron World is seeking a Logistics Manager with strong technical skills and a passion for improving customer delivery experiences. This role will lead our logistics operations with a focus on proactive delivery communications, ensuring our customers receive real-time alerts similar to Amazon's delivery tracking notifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all day-shift and night-shift logistics operations across our fleet (local and regional).
• Implement and optimize 
  delivery alert systems
   (SMS, email, app-based) to keep customers informed in real time.
• Leverage telematics (e.g., Samsara GPS) and routing software to proactively communicate ETAs and delivery status.
• Coordinate with sales, customer service, shipping team and drivers to improve delivery reliability and customer satisfaction.
• Monitor fleet leasing, maintenance, performance, fuel usage, and on-time delivery metrics.
• Drive continuous improvement projects in logistics automation, customer notification systems, and last-mile efficiency.
• Create and analyze logistics KPIs for both shifts and implement process improvements.
• Reduce overtime through better labor planning.
• Improve pick-path efficiency, and load sequencing.
• Own daily/weekly reporting to management.
• Oversee daily route planning and load assignment for local and long-haul trucks.
• Ensure efficient loading order to match route sequence.
• Track truck departure and return times for two shifts.
• Qualifications
• 5+ years of logistics, transportation, or fleet management experience.
• Strong technical aptitude with logistics tech platforms
   (GPS/telematics, routing apps, automated alerts).
• Experience designing or managing 
  customer delivery notification systems
   is a plus.
• Proven ability to manage teams, vendors, and cross-department collaboration.
• Strong problem-solving and process improvement skills.
