Position Overview

The Construction Carpenter supports daily construction activities by performing a variety of hands-on tasks at commercial project sites. This role works closely with Foremen and Superintendents to execute scopes of work safely, efficiently, and with a strong commitment to quality and teamwork.
General Site Support & Carpentry
- Review daily jobsite needs with Foreman and Superintendents to understand scopes of work, plans, and specifications.
- Read, interpret, and work from construction drawings, plans, and specifications.
- Perform material takeoffs and assist with ordering and staging materials.
- Perform general labor tasks as needed, including site cleanup, debris removal, and material handling.
- Perform skilled carpentry tasks including:
- Wood and metal framing installation
- Wood trim, casing, and door installation
- Cabinet and countertop installation
- Commercial door and hardware installation
- Metal framing installation
- Drywall hanging and finishing
- Acoustic ceiling installation
- Installation of toilet accessories, marker boards, and tack boards
- Assist with rough carpentry, fencing, deck and platform building, protection systems, and other assigned work activities.
- Participate in selected demolition work as required.
Safety & Compliance
- Participate in daily Pre-Task Plans and comply with all safety protocols, OSHA standards, and company safety expectations.
- Maintain OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification and demonstrate strong working knowledge of jobsite safety requirements.
- Wear and maintain appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Conduct pre-use inspections of tools and equipment to ensure safe operation.
- Fully understand and follow work instructions, project signage, and tool/equipment safety guidelines.
- Serve as a spotter for heavy equipment operations and perform fire watch duties when required.
- Ensure all work areas, tools, and equipment are secure, organized, and properly maintained.
Material & Equipment Management
- Inventory and track supplies; communicate re-stock needs to the Foreman.
- Manage dumpster vendor schedules and maintain clean, organized waste disposal areas.
- Construct, inspect, and maintain temporary structures such as scaffolding and platforms.
- Safely transport tools and materials between job locations as required.
Quality, Coordination & Teamwork
- Perform work with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of quality and craftsmanship.
- Collaborate effectively with Foremen, Superintendents, subcontractors, and suppliers to support project goals and schedules.
- Track progress and production of assigned tasks and communicate updates, constraints, or issues promptly.
- Identify potential jobsite or quality issues and escalate them appropriately for resolution.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment throughout each shift.
- Uphold 3C Industries' standards for safety, quality, professionalism, and workmanship.
Other Duties
- Assist other craft workers as directed.
- Participate in end-of-day cleanup and site organization.
- Drive to various job locations using personal transportation as required.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned.
Physical Demands
- Safely navigate active construction sites.
- Climb ladders and stairs; work on uneven surfaces.
- Perform overhead work and work at heights as required.
- Lift, carry, and move materials, tools, and equipment.
- Work in various weather conditions.
- Reasonable accommodations available for individuals with disabilities.
Work Environment
- Primarily field-based on active commercial construction sites.
- Regular exposure to weather elements, loud noise, moving machinery, and airborne particles.
- Must be comfortable working in high-risk and high-intensity environments.
- Appropriate PPE required and provided.
Qualifications
- 3+ years' experience as a Carpenter with commercial construction experience preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of commercial construction materials, tools, and methods.
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret construction documents, drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Proficient in the safe use, care, and maintenance of hand and power tools.
- Basic math and geometry skills for measuring, layout, and material takeoffs.
- Self-sufficient and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Strong problem-solving, critical-thinking, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills.
- Competent understanding of OSHA regulations and jobsite safety practices.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification required or ability to obtain. Reliable personal transportation and ability to travel to multiple job locations (occasional night or weekend work may be required).
