Job Description

  • Organizes, directs, and monitors daily activities of Housekeeping and Houseman staff.
  • Ensures efficient, turnover of rooms.
  • Observes housekeeping staff to ensure that established procedures are followed.
  • Establishes procedures, prepares and coordinates schedules, and expedites workflow.
  • Manages financial aspects of housekeeping function including budgeting and inventory control of cleaning supplies, linens, etc.
  • Reviews the daily room availability and informs all appropriate staff.
  • Reviews status of departures on a daily basis.
  • Hire, train, and develop the housekeeping staff to maintain and improve operational standards as well as efficiency and safety.
  • Ensures all necessary reports and forms are completed daily.
  • Performs housekeeping staff responsibilities as needed.
  • Ensures that guests' needs are fulfilled and their stay is as pleasurable as possible.
  • Conduct daily and weekly inspections to determine need for repairs or replacement of furniture or equipment to ensure continuing attainment of hotel standards.
  • Assists front desk staff with resolution of guest problems/complaints as needed.
  • Monitors and maintains entire property.
  • Possesses and maintains thorough knowledge of hotel services, facilities, policies, and room rates and area's attractions.
  • Periodically attends staff meetings with other department heads to discuss hotel policies, guest complaints, and to make recommendations to improve service and ensure an efficient operation.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

  • Commitment to excellent guest service.
  • Experienced in training housekeeping staff in the proper use of cleaning, storing and mixing of chemicals.
  • Knowledgeable about OSHA Blood-borne Pathogen Standard.
  • 3 + years of housekeeping management experience.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Evening, weekend, and holidays hours may be required.
  • May work in dusty, damp and dirty areas.
  • Require to lift, carry, walk, sit, push, crouch and pull and be able to lift 50-75 pounds.
