Summary

As a Direct Support Professional at United Cerebral Palsy of Sacramento & Northern California, you will play a vital role in enhancing the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities. This position involves providing compassionate care and support to help clients achieve their personal goals and improve their quality of life.

Required Education and Experience

· Education: High school or GED certification, some college preferred.

· Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Current CPR and First Aid certification (can be provided by UCP); DOJ fingerprint clearance.

Required Skills, Competencies, and Abilities

· Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively and respectfully with participants, families, care providers, and staff.

· Organizational Skills: Ability to prioritize and maintain attention to detail while ensuring timely and accurate documentation.

· Interpersonal Skills: Professional, approachable, and compassionate demeanor; able to build rapport and foster trust.

· Customer Service Orientation: Demonstrated commitment to providing excellent support and assistance to participants in a manner that promotes dignity, inclusion, and independence.

· Decision-Making and Problem-Solving: Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment, maintain safety, and respond appropriately in dynamic or emergency situations.

· Adaptability: Ability to work in a variety of settings and adjust to changing participant needs and environments.

· Teamwork: Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, supervisors, and community partners to ensure participant success.
