The Manager – Internal Technology and Business Systems leads Vertech's efforts to strategically align and optimize our internal technology environment. This role is responsible for evaluating, improving, and managing Vertech's technology ecosystem to drive efficiency, enable scalability, and enhance employee experience.
Unlike a traditional systems administrator, this role focuses on technology strategy, process automation, and effective execution of Vertech's IT roadmap—ensuring our internal tools and platforms empower teams to work smarter and deliver greater value.
Essential Job Functions
The Manager - Infrastructure and Support is responsible for the following:
1. Driving Efficiency
- Identify opportunities to automate workflows and streamline systems across departments to reduce manual effort and improve organizational productivity.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to understand pain points and design technology-based solutions that align with business goals.
2. Roadmap Execution
- Translate strategic objectives into actionable IT projects and initiatives.
- Maintain an internal IT roadmap balancing innovation, cost-effectiveness, and operational reliability.
- Apply appropriate project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid) to ensure timely, high-quality project delivery.
3. Project Management
- Lead and coordinate internal IT projects such as server-to-cloud transitions, AI adoption initiatives, Tettra migration, and HRIS implementation.
- Manage project resources, schedules, budgets, and stakeholder communications to ensure successful outcomes.
- Track project metrics and report progress to leadership.
4. Enterprise Application Management
- Oversee the lifecycle of Vertech's enterprise applications (ERP, CRM, HRIS, and other core systems excluding Microsoft Office 365 applications).
- Ensure all applications remain aligned with business needs, secure, compliant, and well-maintained.
- Partner with vendors and internal stakeholders to assess system performance, plan upgrades, and evaluate new solutions.
5. User Support and Training
- Lead a department that provides guidance, resources, and training to empower employees to effectively use Vertech's enterprise applications.
- Serve as an escalation point for complex application issues and coordinate with vendors or partners for resolution.
- Promote best practices and technology adoption across teams.
6. Team Leadership
- Manage performance by setting goals and expectations and keeping the team accountable to the goals and expectations.
- Maintain adequate staffing levels to meet department objectives.
- Coaching and career development. Identify training needs, and help motivate the team towards growth and excellence.
- Engage in companywide manager meetings.
- Adopt and align the team with the Vertech core values
- Other duties as assigned
Required Skills:
- Knowledge and experience with managing multi-faceted projects using Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
- Availability to travel up to 10% of the time
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Systems, Project Management, Business Administration or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in IT project management, technology operations, or process optimization.
- Demonstrated success leading cross-functional technology initiatives.
- Strong understanding of enterprise systems (ERP, CRM, HRIS) and SaaS application ecosystems.
- Proven ability to translate strategic objectives into actionable technology roadmaps.
- Preferred: Project Management certification.
