Electrical Design Engineer

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or related field (preferred).
• 2–10+ years of electrical design experience within the MEP consulting industry.
• Proficiency in
  Revit
  , AutoCAD; SKM and/or ETAP a plus.
• Strong knowledge of NEC and electrical design fundamentals.
• Ability to interpret construction documents and develop detailed electrical designs.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• EIT/PE license or pursuit of licensure is a plus

Key Responsibilities

• Design electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, emergency/standby power, UPS systems, grounding, and fire alarm.
• Prepare electrical drawings, one-line diagrams, load calculations, panel schedules, and specifications using Revit and AutoCAD.
• Perform short-circuit, voltage drop, conductor sizing, and arc-flash analysis (SKM/ETAP preferred).
• Coordinate designs with mechanical, plumbing, architectural, and structural disciplines.
• Review submittals, RFIs, and shop drawings for accuracy and compliance with NEC and project requirements.
• Participate in client meetings, site surveys, field investigations, and construction administration tasks.
• Ensure designs meet applicable codes (NEC, NFPA, IBC), local jurisdiction requirements, and project standards.
• Support senior engineers and project managers with design development and project delivery.
