Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Paralegal/Case Manager to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will support various practice areas that include transactions and litigation health & life sciences law. This role involves managing legal cases, conducting research, drafting documents, and providing administrative support to ensure efficient case progression and client service. The successful candidate will possess strong organizational skills, legal research expertise, and proficiency with case management systems to contribute effectively to our firm's objectives.
Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys with case preparation across multiple practice areas such as pharmacy and pharmaceutical litigation, health care professional license defense, business operations, and patent law.
- Conduct comprehensive legal research using Westlaw and other legal research tools to support case strategies.
- Manage legal documents including drafting contracts, pleadings, discovery requests, and correspondence with clients and courts.
- Review and organize case files using document management systems like Clio; ensure accurate data entry and filing.
- Perform document review and proofreading to ensure accuracy and compliance with legal standards.
- Support project management tasks related to ongoing cases or legal projects; coordinate deadlines and court filings.
- Conduct client interviews and gather relevant information for case development while maintaining professional phone etiquette.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing calendars, and providing executive administrative support as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and adhere to firm policies regarding legal procedures and documentation.
Qualifications
- Paralegal experience.
- Proficiency in legal research tools such as Westlaw or LexisNexis; experience with Clio is a plus.
- Familiarity with legal case management software and document management systems.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong writing skills for drafting legal documents; proofreading and transcription abilities are essential.
- Experience in conducting interviews and client communication with professionalism.
- Knowledge of contracts, document review processes, data entry accuracy, filing procedures, and clerical experience within a law office setting.
- Ability to perform legal research efficiently; familiarity with litigation procedures is preferred.
- Effective time management skills combined with excellent phone etiquette and organizational abilities.
- Legal administrative experience is advantageous; familiarity with UCC Law is a plus. This position offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic legal environment supporting diverse practice areas while developing your paralegal expertise in a collaborative team setting.
