Full Stack Engineer (Java + AWS)

Hybrid role with 3 days per week at the office in Lake Mary

Our client is looking for a Full Stack Engineer who can turn complex product requirements into scalable, high-impact applications. In this role, you'll work closely with product, operations, and customer-facing teams to design clean architecture, build robust services, and deliver polished user interfaces. You'll help drive technical decisions, mentor teammates, and contribute to a modern engineering culture focused on quality, reliability, and continuous improvement.

What You'll Do

• Collaborate with product, business, and client-facing teams to define and refine requirements

• Design and build scalable full stack applications and APIs

• Develop responsive, user-focused React interfaces

• Create reliable backend services with strong test coverage

• Optimize SQL queries and manage complex relational data models

• Architect, deploy, and maintain cloud solutions in AWS

• Write and maintain automated unit and integration tests

• Work cross-functionally to deliver high-quality software

• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and contribute to technical strategy

• Participate in code reviews and uphold engineering best practices

What We're Looking For

• 5–9 years of professional software engineering experience

•
Must have: Strong Java background and hands-on AWS experience

• Experience with at least one strongly typed backend language (Java, Scala, Kotlin, C#, or TypeScript)

• Frontend experience with
React
and modern
JavaScript/TypeScript

• Advanced
SQL
skills (PostgreSQL preferred), including:

– Complex joins and subqueries

– Common Table Expressions (CTEs)

– Query tuning and performance optimization

• Real-world experience with key AWS services (EC2/ECS, CloudFront, ELB, S3, IAM)

• Solid understanding of automated testing practices (unit + integration)

• Familiarity with distributed systems or microservices architectures

• Strong grasp of software engineering fundamentals and best practices

Nice to Have

• Infrastructure as code (Terraform)

• End-to-end testing (e.g., Cypress)

• Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)

• CI/CD pipeline experience

• Experience working in high-scale, production environments
