We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Material Handler to join our dynamic logistics team in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This role is crucial for the smooth operation of our warehouse, ensuring efficient movement and storage of goods. As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for receiving, processing, and distributing materials throughout the facility. This position requires a strong commitment to safety protocols and a proactive approach to task management. You will work closely with other warehouse staff and management to maintain optimal inventory levels and ensure timely order fulfillment. Your daily tasks will involve operating forklifts and other material handling equipment, loading and unloading trucks, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) is a plus. We provide all necessary PPE to ensure your protection. Responsibilities:
- Receive, identify, and stock materials.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload shipments from trucks.
- Pick and pack orders as needed.
- Conduct inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures, including the proper use of PPE .
- Report any safety hazards or equipment malfunctions immediately.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role preferred.
- Ability to perform heavy Lifting (up to 50 lbs) regularly.
- Proficiency in operating material handling equipment.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations and Logistics .
- Commitment to workplace Safety .
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Must be able to wear appropriate PPE .
