Join our dynamic logistics team in Boston, Massachusetts, as a skilled Forklift Operator! We are seeking experienced and safety-conscious individuals to manage the movement of materials within our distribution center. This role is critical for ensuring efficient operations, from receiving to shipping. Your ability to safely and effectively operate forklifts will directly impact our productivity and the timely delivery of goods.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, electric) to move, stack, and retrieve inventory.
- Load and unload trucks efficiently, ensuring product integrity and safety protocols are followed.
- Perform daily inspections of forklift equipment and report any issues or maintenance needs.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area.
- Assist with inventory management tasks, including cycle counting and stock placement.
- Follow all company safety regulations, including the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Transport materials between different areas of the warehouse as directed.
- Accurately record the movement and location of goods using the warehouse management system.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors and logistics team members to meet operational targets.
- Adhere to strict quality control standards for all material handling activities.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification and proven operational experience.
- At least 3 years of experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or logistics environment.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Proficiency in navigating busy warehouse environments.
- Strong understanding of safe forklift operating procedures and warehouse safety practices.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and situational awareness.
- Reliable, punctual, and possess a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient workplace.
