Job Overview Materials Direct is a fast-growing company supplying parts for Electronics and EV battery manufacturers with essential materials to protect their products and designs.
Materials Direct has a revolutionary new online platform for supplying custom parts converted from sheets or rolls of technical materials. We offer the customer instant pricing for manufacturing their part, which is made to their drawing. We have a 24‑hour manufacturing turnaround, no tooling, and parts are shipped anywhere in the world.
We are seeking a driven and focused Tele sales Technical adviser with engineering / materials experience to join our team! Our ideal candidate will have a strong background in tele sales and be confident when speaking to customers. The role’s focus is to call customers, advise of the availability of products and services available for purchase, and entice customers to buy / try the Materials Direct product and service.
Responsibilities
Make outgoing calls to customers to advise them of products and services that may be of interest to them.
Take customer information and update it in the database as required.
Ask probing questions about the customers current requirements
Explain the UPS / Benefits to switching to Materials Direct.
Pass on qualified leads to the Sales Manager for Closing.
To utilise existing Lead gen methods to call out to prospects
Researching current markets to improve target relevance
Be patient and polite and have a customer‑focused telephone manner.
Update customer information, such as change contact, additional relevant contacts, and job roles
Follow‑up calls with emails directing further traffic to the site.
Requirements
High school diploma or above
The ability to read a simple drawing of a 2D material such as a gasket will be a distinct advantage
A good grasp of mathematics and English
Good understanding of e‑commerce web platforms
Composing emails and letters
Minimum of 1‑2 years previous experience within a technical sales role
Ability to communicate with customers and other staff members
Strong problem‑solving skills
A demonstrated knowledge of Engineering or science is a distinct advantage
Knowledge of sales software and HubSpot CRM systems and their functions
Resilient and positive nature
Can‑do attitude and tenacious
Able to work as part of a team and achieve team goals and targets
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Proficient in the use of computers and its software
Good interpersonal skills
Good listening skills, with high levels of attention to detail
Ability to multitask
Goals / Targets
To train customers in the use of the platform
Site visits to bolster lead quality and demonstrate effectiveness
Meetings booked if required
BOM’s / Parts numbers and Drawings received
Project information and details extracted from relevant customers
Current buying methods used
Grow the Database per month
