Position Summary
This company has created an enterprise software platform to support their rapidly growing and evolving business. Their new software platform is a set of cloud-native, federated systems that are highly scalable, accurate, and modular, leveraging both custom-built and 3rd party components.
They are seeking a Project Manager (PM) to become a member of our growing products and platform team. This person will be an experienced PM with a proven track record of supporting multiple simultaneous projects, managing stakeholder relationships and is very passionate about delivering quality solutions.
As a member of the Technology Department, this role will work closely with Engineering and Product teams. The success of this role depends on strong communication skills, high levels of collaboration, and constant communication with stakeholders. The ideal candidate for this role will have a deep understanding of PM best practices and processes, Agile/Scrum processes, ability to understand business flows and data, and excellent interpersonal skills. This individual will be experienced in overseeing projects with complex deliverables and implementing best practices on their team. In this role, you will work closely with technical leadership, engineering, and product owners to support the delivery of our products and services.
Essential Functions
- Manage one or more software and product development projects concurrently
- Support Lead Technical Product Owners and Technical Product Owners in breaking down the work into phases and workstreams.
- Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, dependencies, and milestones.
- Track progress against milestones and adjust plans as needed.
- Monitor project interdependencies and ensure alignment. Provide visibility into cross-team impacts and escalate to leadership appropriately
- Initiate project activities according to the plan
- Coordinate UAT with stakeholders
- Facilitate regular communication between teams and leadership
- Identify, manage and mitigate risks and issues proactively.
Report status and conduct stakeholder meetings (as needed)
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (KSAs)
A bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, management, or related field.- At least 7 years of experience in IT project management, managing projects of 4 people or more.
- Experienced and comfortable with Scrum or other Agile software development methodologies, processes, and practices. Scrum Master certification is welcome
- Ability to manage multiple software/IT projects concurrently
- Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with others (internal and external)
- Ideal candidate will have strong tech background with a good understanding of the development process and enterprise architecture.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proven analytical and problem solving skills
- Detail oriented
Required Education, Certifications/ Licenses, Related Experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Experience in the music or fintech industry is a huge plus.
Our client is located in Washington DC. This is a fully remote position but does require someone that can travel to DC on occasion.
