Facilities Maintenance Worker
Department: Administration
Reports To: Director of Maintenance

Job Description: Facilities Maintenance Worker, under the direction of the Director of Maintenance, will work on maintenance, repair etc. of areas around the college. These tasks could be inside the facility or outside the facility. This position will ensure that all structures, equipment used, furnishings or grounds are continually maintained and in good repair. Compensation commensurate with experience and skill.

Responsibilities
The following duties include but are not limited to:

  • Plumbing: PVC Piping, Schedule 40 NPT, Copper, up to 4"
  • Electrical: 120V-240V single phase, 240V 3 phase.
  • HVAC troubleshooting and repair
  • Maintain locks and doors/ time delay security alarms
  • Wall framing (wood and metal studs), install and finish drywall, painting, finish trim
  • Doors and Windows
  • Grounds keeping, seasonal operations, grass, mulch, snow, etc.
  • Vehicle Maintenance
  • Check on vehicle fluids, lights and tire pressure
  • Routine vehicle maintenance
  • (change oil, replace headlights, etc.)
  • Clean and maintain agency vehicles (cleanliness)
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge/Skills

  • This position requires the ability to think critically, work independently, and excel at prioritization of maintenance needs.
  • The successful candidate will be highly organized and capable of developing a prescribed maintenance system, and implement the same, track all yearly and calendar licenses (e.g. elevator, boiler, fire, etc.), while eliminating sub-contractual overhead.
  • Must be able to learn site-specific rules and regulations and then own them. Also, the employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience.
  • Must have current, valid Ohio Driver's License
  • Must have High School diploma or equivalent
  • Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
  • Ability to define problems and resolve them quickly.
