Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Med Tech to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in personal care homes and will be skilled in providing exceptional care to individuals with various needs, including those with developmental disabilities, Alzheimer's, dementia, and other memory-related conditions. The Medication Technician will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe administration of medications and supporting the overall well-being of our residents.

Duties

  • Administer medications to residents as prescribed by healthcare providers while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Maintain accurate medical documentation and records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Monitor residents for side effects or adverse reactions to medications and report any concerns to nursing staff.
  • Assist with daily living activities and provide compassionate care to residents, including those requiring tube feeding or catheter care.
  • Conduct regular assessments of vital signs and report changes in resident health status.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Utilize EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner for documentation and communication regarding patient care.
  • Ensure a clean and safe environment for residents, adhering to infection control protocols.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in assisted living, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care settings is preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and medication administration practices is essential.
  • Familiarity with caregiving techniques for individuals with Alzheimer's disease, dementia, or other cognitive impairments is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of medical documentation processes and the ability to maintain accurate medical records.
  • Excellent communication skills and a compassionate approach to patient care.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team while also demonstrating independence in daily tasks.
