Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Medication Aide to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will assist with medication administration, monitor patient health, and provide exceptional care tailored to the needs of seniors and individuals requiring specialized support. Responsibilities
- Administer prescribed medications accurately following physician orders and facility protocols while adhering to HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards.
- Monitor and record vital signs, patient responses, and any adverse reactions during medication administration or routine care.
- Assist with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, mobility support, and personal hygiene for residents with diverse needs including Alzheimer's, dementia, or memory care requirements.
- Maintain detailed medical records using electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner to ensure compliance and continuity of care.
- Support residents in assisted living, nursing home, hospital, or home care environments by providing compassionate caregiving tailored to individual conditions such as hospice or developmental disabilities.
- Perform catheter care, tube feeding assistance, and other specialized medical procedures with precision and sensitivity.
- Collaborate with nursing staff and healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care that respects privacy laws like HIPAA and promotes safety.
Qualifications
- Valid certification as a Medication Aide recognized by state licensing boards.
- Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home & community care settings is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medication administration procedures.
- Experience with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner for accurate documentation of patient care activities.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with people with disabilities or cognitive impairments like Alzheimer's or dementia.
- Excellent communication skills combined with a caring attitude that fosters trust and comfort among residents.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions meticulously while maintaining flexibility in a fast-paced environment.
