About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager to support upcoming Business Continuity (BC) and Disaster Recovery (DR) initiatives for the Technology Strategy & Architecture (TSA) team at the Port of Long Beach. This role will lead complex technical projects focused on data governance, reporting automation, and data platform modernization.
You will collaborate with cross-functional IT teams to ensure smooth execution of technical and business workstreams. This position requires onsite presence Monday–Wednesday each week.
Responsibilities
- Lead planning, coordination, testing, and execution of BC/DR initiatives.
- Manage projects involving data governance, reporting automation, and data platform modernization.
- Partner with cross-functional IT teams, including NOC, SOC, Infrastructure Operations, Service Desk, Business Applications, and TSA.
- Apply Waterfall and Agile/Scrum methodologies as appropriate.
- Communicate risks, milestones, and technical updates clearly to stakeholders.
- Contribute to a collaborative, learning-oriented environment.
Qualifications
- Hands-on experience leading DR, BC, or data/analytics projects in enterprise environments.
- Strong background in project management using Waterfall and Agile/Scrum.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Preferred: PMP, PMI-ACP, CSM, SAFe, or similar credentials.
- Preferred: AWS or Azure experience/certification.
- Ability to be onsite in Long Beach, CA Monday–Wednesday weekly.
- Team-oriented, proactive, and delivery-focused.
Schedule
- Onsite: Monday–Wednesday
- Remote: Thursday–Friday
- Full-time weekly hours
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $ $50.42 per hour

- managing IT technical projects in enterprise environments: 2 years (Required)

License/Certification:

- PMI-ACP (Required)
- Certified Scrum Master (Required)
- SAFe Certification (Required)
