POSITION OVERVIEW:
As a
Project Manager
at LJA
Land Development
, you will be responsible for applying advanced knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices to manage and deliver complex land development projects. This role involves leading project teams, overseeing design execution, and managing client relationships while ensuring project quality, profitability, and on-time delivery. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership, communication, and business development skills, along with proven experience in retail, industrial, institutional, commercial, and multifamily developments.
A TYPICAL DAY MIGHT INCLUDE:
- Leading a team of EITs, designers, and CAD technicians to produce construction plans, exhibits, reports, and tables as required by clients.
- Managing daily operations, deliverables, and schedules for commercial and mixed-use development projects.
- Applying advanced techniques, theory, and practices across specialized areas of civil engineering.
- Planning, coordinating, and directing large-scale engineering projects or multiple smaller projects with diverse complexities.
- Collaborating directly with clients, consultants, and governmental agencies to ensure effective communication and project coordination.
- Preparing proposals, scopes of work, and budgets while managing project profitability and client satisfaction.
- Providing mentorship, technical direction, and leadership to less experienced engineers and design staff.
- Representing LJA professionally in meetings, presentations, and client interactions..
REQUIRED EDUCATION/LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering required.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Texas.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 7+ years of post-graduate experience in site engineering.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong client and internal relationships.
IDEALLY, YOU SHOULD ALSO HAVE:
- Experience in proposal writing and business development.
- Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary design teams.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple complex projects concurrently.
