We have an immediate opening for a Senior Quality Control Engineer in our Bellingham, WA facility.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain quality management processes, SOPs, and quality metrics.
- Plan and execute internal quality audits; document findings and follow up on corrective actions.
- Domestic and International travel to suppliers, factories and trade shows.
- Review quality control inspections to ensure processes are effective and compliant.
- Lead root cause analyses and implement preventive measures to avoid recurrence of defects.
- Work closely with product development to review designs and ensure quality considerations are built in from the start.
- Support supplier quality assurance by reviewing quality plans, coordinating audits, and monitoring supplier performance.
- Review and approve test protocols, inspection criteria, and quality control documentation for new and existing products.
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications
- Generate quality reports and present findings to management with clear recommendations.
- Maintain familiarity with safety and regulatory standards relevant to the product line.
- Regular and predictable attendance is required.
- Assist in training and onboarding of staff on QA procedures and best practices.
- Help develop documentation, guides, and training content for quality processes.
- Support customer service teams with escalated quality-related issues.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and cross-departmental projects.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Quality Assurance, Industrial, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and statistical/QA tools (e.g., Minitab, SPC software).
- Experience with ISO 9001 or similar quality management systems preferred.
- Experience in manufacturing and QA at a machinery, automotive or consumer electronics manufacturer.
- Minimum 5 year's experience working with Complex Engineering and/or Manufacturing Processes.
- Must be self-driven and able to deliver results while working independently
- Organized, detail oriented, and able to meet deadlines
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, structured environment
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
