The Construction Manager – Network (Rotational) oversees the installation and integration of network infrastructure during data center construction projects. This includes structured cabling, fiber optic systems, and networking equipment, ensuring compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and industry best practices. The role requires coordination with contractors, vendors, and internal teams to deliver high-quality network systems that support mission-critical operations.

Job requirements

  • Bachelor's degree advantageous for managing large teams or complex projects; equivalent military or trade school experience in low-voltage systems or network infrastructure will also be considered.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in network infrastructure or low-voltage construction, including at least 4 years in a supervisory role.
  • Experience in data center environments or other mission-critical facilities (e.g., hospitals, telecom hubs, or industrial plants) is strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of structured cabling systems, fiber optics, and networking hardware
  • Familiarity with industry standards such as TIA/EIA, BICSI, NFPA, and construction safety practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, schematics, and technical specifications.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, proven ability to manage subcontractor performance and coordinate multiple trades.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage schedules and project timelines.
  • Certifications such as BICSI, RCDD, or OSHA 30 are a plus.

Other important requirements:

  • Pre-employment screening, including background check and substance testing may be required according to company policies.
  • Must provide own steel-toed work boots; other PPE will be supplied.
  • Must be able to reliably commute to the work site daily or have plans to relocate before starting work.
  • Must be comfortable working a rotational schedule, which includes day and night shifts as well as weekend work, based on project needs.
  • Employees working night shifts will receive a 15% premium added to their hourly rate only for hours worked during night shifts.

Job responsibilities

  • Supervise daily activities of subcontractors and technicians installing network infrastructure (structured cabling, fiber optics, network hardware).
  • Maintain execution schedule throughout the project and communicate expectations clearly to the installation team.
  • Establish and maintain tracking of field events showing progress and projected completion.

  • Review construction drawings and specifications to ensure installations meet design and client requirements.
  • Monitor progress against schedules and report status to project leadership.
  • Conduct inspections and quality checks for compliance with TIA/EIA, BICSI, and safety standards.
  • Oversee material deliveries, equipment staging, and inventory tracking.
  • Troubleshoot field issues and provide technical guidance.
  • Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and IT teams for system integration.
  • Maintain documentation of work, inspections, and change orders.
  • Support commissioning and testing activities prior to handover.
