Systems Engineer

Capstone Research Corporation is seeking to expand our team. We provide high level engineering to the Department of Defense with Integrated Air and Missile Defense Systems Engineering expertise to solve the tough interoperability problems facing Warfighters today. We are seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to assist in architecture development, modernization, and design of the Mid-Range Capability (MRC) Battle Operations Center (BOC) and the Strategic Capabilities Office (SCO) Network Enabled Launcher (NEL). This role focuses on defining, integrating, and modernizing the MRC BOC and supporting the NEL Integrated Product Team in design of system-level and cross-system requirements, design and specifications for SCOs NEL.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Mid-Range Capabilities Program Office in the modernization of the MRC BOC. Support the integrating technical changes and assist in re-designing the hardware layout of the systems and hardware internal to the BOC.
  • Support the Strategic Capabilities Office during the development of the SCO NEL. This will include assisting the IPT with network architecture design, and the integration of command-and-control systems, while ensuring alignment with joint operational concepts, capability requirements, and interoperability standards.
  • Coordinate with respective Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), system engineers and warfighters to ensure alignment between architecture products, requirements, and test objectives.
  • Support IPT meetings, architecture reviews, and capability synchronization meetings across joint stakeholders.
  • Provide SME technical input to integration, and design strategies that impact the MRC modernization and NEL development.

    • Requirements:

  • Secret Security Clearance – Active Secret required; TS/SCI preferred
  • BA/BS and 5-10 years of related professional experience of 8+ years of technical engineering experience with operation C2 systems
  • Experience in cross Service system integration.
  • Experience in networking, specifically network mapping and design.
  • Understanding of joint command and control architectures and systems.
  • Understanding of capability-based planning and configuration management processes.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across multi-agency teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate operational needs into technical requirements and architecture products.
  • Experience supporting/writing technical reviews, risk assessments, and capability portfolio synchronization events.
  • Ability to travel 20% of the time
  • Must be a US Citizen
