POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Server role is responsible for providing the highest quality of service to guests in a friendly, courteous, and efficient manner. This position requires a motivated hospitality professional who is organized, passionate, and retains both a strong team-centered work ethic and a positive attitude. You will be an integral part of our service team who sets the stage for a memorable experience. You have a passion for food and beverage and you strive to provide exceptional hospitality to our guests.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Approach all interactions and communications with guests and employees in an attentive, courteous and service-oriented manner
  • Greeting guests, receiving and delivering food and drink orders, collecting customer payments, and assisting the team in any additional restaurant or customer service needs
  • Willingness to listen to, understand, and clarify any concerns raised by employees and guests with a solution-oriented approach.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which includes adhering to the dress code
  • Maximize efforts towards productivity while retaining focus on hospitality and a positive guest experience
  • Effective in handling problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information
  • Must be able to show initiative, including anticipating guest or operational needs
  • Perform other related duties as requested by management and/or that supports the team
  • Maintain a friendly and warm demeanor at all times

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:

  • 2+ years of experience as a Server preferred
  • Must provide own business casual uniform and black non-slip shoes
  • Service guests with all food and beverage requirements in an attentive, courteous, and efficient manner
  • Thorough knowledge of food and beverage menus
  • Ability to greet tables and physically light candles on restaurant tables
  • Pre-bus all tables removing soiled dishes after each course
  • Be familiar with the operation of the P.O.S system
  • Perform cashiering duties by closing checks and preparing end of shift paperwork to be submitted to management
  • Perform opening procedures, closing procedures, and side-work duties in accordance to checklist resources
  • Ensure that tables, chairs, restaurant furniture and equipment is kept stocked, tidy and clean
  • Consistently upsell food, beverage, and promotional items to guests
  • Ensure overall guest satisfaction and positive vibe is maintained

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to communicate effectively with management, guests, and staff.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility at least 8 hours in length.
  • Must be able to exert well-paced ability to remain organized and remain calm during high-volume shifts.
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.
  • May be required to lift trays of food or food items weighing up to 20 lbs.
  • Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening, hearing and visual accuracies.
  • Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment on the premises.

Regular attendance and prompt arrival to shifts is essential to the successful performance of this position. Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.

Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the restaurant. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required.
