A rapidly growing, privately held leader in the Texas energy transition is seeking a highly accomplished and strategically minded General Counsel to join the executive leadership team.

This is a unique opportunity to own the legal function, report directly to the CEO, and serve as a crucial strategic partner in a dynamic, high-growth environment.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Corporate Governance & Compliance: Overseeing all corporate compliance, policy development, and internal controls to mitigate risk and ensure adherence to local, state, and federal regulations.
- Risk Management: Proactively identifying, evaluating, and advising on legal and business risks associated with project lifecycles, operational activities, and emerging market opportunities.
- External Counsel Management: Strategically selecting, managing, and optimizing relationships with outside counsel to ensure cost-effective and high-quality legal services.
- Executive Guidance: Serving as a trusted advisor to the CEO and Board of Directors on key strategic decisions, corporate structure, and organizational policy.
Who You Are
- You are a seasoned legal professional with a minimum of 10 years of experience, including significant time spent as in-house counsel or in a senior leadership role advising energy companies.
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school and active license to practice law in Texas or eligibility for immediate admission.
- Proven expertise in complex commercial transactions, project finance, regulatory matters, and corporate law.
- Demonstrated ability to function as a business partner, developing creative legal solutions that achieve business goals.
This position offers the chance to make an indelible mark on one of the most critical and fastest-growing sectors of the Texas economy. This role comes with a competitive salary range of $250,000 to $300,000, plus a generous executive compensation package, comprehensive benefits, and a high-impact role with unparalleled executive visibility.
