GENERAL:

· Assists the Child Placing Supervisor with those duties for which the case manager is qualified to provide

· Hours for this position are dependent on the number of children and families being supervised.

· The employee is responsible for establishing their work schedule so as to accommodate the needs and schedules of foster children and foster families.

· Consult Treatment Director for needs regarding children receiving treatment services

· Must know and comply with the rules of Minimum Standards for General Residential Operations.

SPECIFIC:

· Assist with implementation of the therapeutic foster home program

· In consultation with Child Placing Supervisor and the Treatment Team, assists in the preparation of plans of service

· May perform individual counseling for children, facilitate family counseling sessions for foster children and their families, whose level of care permit

· Assists the Child Placing Supervisor in the development of resources for foster parents.

· Responds to crisis situations occurring in the foster home, consults with and provides support for foster parents, with children under therapeutic care

· Assists in training foster parents

· Assists Child Placing Supervisor with liaison with public schools, and advocacy for foster children, for foster families having foster children in public school systems. May attend ARD meetings, disciplinary hearings, etc., that involve foster children and their foster families, in instances where the Treatment Director and the Level I Child Placing Agent cannot attend

· Assists the Child Placing Supervisor in keeping the Executive Director advised of the needs, weaknesses, strengths, progress and crises of each foster home and foster child

· Assists Child Placing Supervisor in insuring that all required documentation is complete and filed in a timely manner for each foster child placement and each agency foster home

· Assists the Child Placing Supervisor in insuring that Child Placing Agency employees, agents, and subcontractors are in compliance with Policies and Procedures of the Burke Center for Youth at all times

· Assists the Child Placing Supervisor in insuring that agency foster homes are in compliance with Minimum Standards & Guidelines established by Residential Child Care Licensing, and insuring that the agency and agency foster homes are in compliance with other standards required by other regulatory agencies at all times

· Participating in interagency and other appropriate meetings relating to foster care on behalf of the child placing agency and The Burke Foundation with or in lieu of Child Placing Supervisor

· Assists the Child Placing Supervisor in recruiting prospective foster families and respite care providers

· Conducts required visits with foster parents and foster children in the foster home semi-monthly

· On call duties

· Meeting deadlines, organizing and maintaining child case files

· All CPA employees may be required to drive children at any time for any reason. Transportation training must be completed prior to driving children.

Pay: $ $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 20 per week
