As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials throughout our facility. Your duties will include operating various types of forklifts to load and unload trucks, move inventory to and from storage locations, and transport goods to designated areas. A thorough understanding of forklift safety procedures, including pre-operation checks and proper maneuvering techniques, is essential. You will also be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized warehouse environment, ensuring aisles are clear and materials are stored correctly. Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) to move, load, and unload materials.
- Transport inventory to and from designated storage areas, production lines, and shipping/receiving docks.
- Perform daily pre-operation inspections of forklifts and report any defects or maintenance issues.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring aisles and pathways are clear.
- Assist with receiving and shipping functions as needed.
- Accurately stack and store materials in designated locations.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory movements and forklift usage.
- Collaborate with warehouse staff to ensure efficient workflow.
- Follow all traffic and safety rules within the warehouse environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification (e.g., OSHA-compliant).
- Proven experience operating various types of forklifts in a warehouse setting.
- Excellent knowledge of forklift safety procedures and best practices.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and spatial awareness.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations and logistics principles.
- Commitment to safety and the proper use of PPE.
