JOB– Mechanical Design Engineer LOCATION– West London TERM– Permanent SALARY– GBP35,000 – GBP45,000 per annum, dependent on experience My client specialises in fabrication for a range of industries, and they are looking to take on a Mechanical Design Engineer on a permanent basis in the West London area.
The Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:
3–5+ years' experience in a similar Mechanical Design position
Degree / HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar
Previous experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment
Be proficient using 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo etc.
Have the ability to carry out mechanical calculations
Any previous experience of working with process machinery or steel / metal materials would be desirable
Good theoretical mechanical engineering knowledge of core principles and tight tolerances
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
Proficient using MS Office
Excellent organisational skills and time management skills
Have the ability to work well alone as well as part of a small multi–disciplinary team
The Mechanical Design Engineer role will involve:
Working within the current engineering team with other Design Engineers
Producing 3D designs using Autodesk Inventor CAD software and 2D designs with AutoCAD
Liaising with manufacturing providers
Being involved in final assembly of productsCreating the required documentation for design as well as project reports / plans
Updating 3D models and drawings
Inputting parts into the MRP system creating BOMs
Checking drawings for sign off
Working in a small multi–disciplinary team on varied projects
