Pickering has a state of-the-art fabrication facility to service a diverse group of industries including: oil and gas, power generation, petro chemicals and chemicals. We specialize in high quality, custom designed, process equipment including large shell and tube heat exchangers, pressure vessels, piping and reactors. We specialize in stainless steel, alloy and clad metal custom design and fabrication.

Position Summary

· Setup and operation of Horizontal / Vertical boring mills, lathes and machining centers.

· Machining / drilling of various forgings & tubesheets for heat exchanger & pressure vessels.

· Must be experienced and proficient with Fanuc & Heidenhain controls.

· In process measuring of critical dimensions.

· Shop clean-up and organization.

· Strong health and safety mindset.

· Afternoon shift Monday – Thursday 2:30PM – 1:00AM.

· Afternoon Shift premium + $2.25 / hour.

· Over time may be required.

· Time and a half after 40 hours, double time after 46 hours, as well as Sundays.

A qualified Machinist must demonstrate competence in the following shop operations, associated with fabricating pressure vessels, heat exchangers and associated distribution piping, and fittings:

· Read Blue Prints

· Use of precision measuring equipment

· Must have Milling & turning experience

· Select tooling and apply knowledge of feeds and speeds.

· Ability to read and write CNC programming.

Qualifications

· Forklifts experience an asset

· Overhead Crane Operation and rigging experience an asset

· FeatureCam programming experience an asset.

Education:

· Completion of high school

· 429A (Machinist Certificate of Qualification) preferred

Experience:

· 5 + years' experience in a machining facility
