Join a dynamic team at Staples as an Account Developer and play a pivotal role in winning back and retaining valued customers. In this high-velocity inside sales position, you’ll use best-in-class technology and a strategic approach to engage businesses, uncover their needs, and deliver tailored solutions. This role is part of a team and does not have assigned accounts.  You will leverage a prioritized customer insights tool to engage and sell to contacts across the entire standard and low touch customer segment.  Staples is committed to fostering growth, innovation, and career development, making this an excellent opportunity for those who thrive in a fast-paced environment and are passionate about helping customers succeed. 

What you’ll be doing: 

  • Engage declining accounts remotely via phone, video, and digital channels to drive customer win-back/retention  
  • Analyze customer trends and feedback to target the right contacts and solutions. 
  • Meet weekly and monthly sales targets and KPIs set by sales leadership. 
  • Consistently achieve activity goals, including outbound calls, sell time, and live contacts. 
  • Provide outstanding service by resolving inquiries and ensuring customer satisfaction. 
  • Utilize CRM software to manage interactions and maintain accurate sales records. 
  • Leverage internal partnerships with sales specialists and customer service teams to drive growth. 
  • Negotiate pricing and craft value-added proposals to meet customer needs. 
  • Participate in training to enhance sales skills and product knowledge. 
  • Use Professional Selling Skills (PSS) to identify customer needs and develop a value-added proposition, proposal & pricing. 
  • Oversee pricing negotiations and influences on the spot pricing decisions in order to cultivate seamless customer experience.

  • Proven ability to meet or exceed incremental sales and gross profit goals - growing sales and margin within current customer base 
  • Sales process delivery experience and digital selling agility.

What’s needed- Basic Qualifications: 

  • High school diploma. 
  • 2+ years of experience in sales, customer service, or sales support. 
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint. 
  • Strong communication and organizational skills. 
  • Experience with business-to-business sales processes. 

What’s needed - Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree  
  • Industry knowledge is a plus.
