Find your future with us.The Boeing Company is looking for a Lead Software Architect to join the F15 International Vehicle Simulation team located in Hazelwood, Missouri. This Lead Software Architect role will lead the modernization of a legacy codebase to current software coding standards creating a state-of-the-art fighter jet simulation of the F-15 platform. The ideal candidate will possess a background in developing real-time software and have a deep understanding of military flight trainers or aircraft. This position will play a critical role in designing and modernizing the central software of F-15 Aircrew Trainers used by NATO International Partners.F-15 International Vehicle Simulation is looking for an experienced Software Architect to lead the technical implementation of a program integrating into our Common Source Baseline. The ideal candidate will possess a background in developing real-time software and have a deep understanding of military flight trainers or aircraft. This position will play an important role is designing and modernizing the central software for F-15 Aircrew Trainers used by NATO International Partners.Position Responsibilities:Oversee the design, architecture, and development of simulation models, simulation visualizations, virtual environments/platforms and frameworks to enhance test performance, safety, and durability of software and hardware systems throughout the entire product lifecycle.Taking a legacy software simulator for fighter jets and taking that baseline to modernize with current software coding standards.Partners with stakeholders to advise on the review and identification of simulation requirements and dynamics of the systems being simulated.Oversees the design, modeling, simulation, testing, and analysis to assess and optimize overall system performance and capabilities.Oversees validation, verification, and refinement of simulation software code, models, simulations, test procedures and test environments, executing test procedures, documenting test results and modeling against real-world data, test data, benchmarks, or other similar models.Reviews the documentation and maintenance of technical code, algorithms, specifications and descriptions of simulation models.Partners with cross functional engineering teams to advise on integration of simulation software with hardware devices and systems.Oversees implementing current and emerging technologies, tools, frameworks, and methods in the software engineering simulation environment.Oversees modernizing, migrating, sustaining, and updating simulation software to adapt legacy systems to new operating systems.Advises management and influences internal practices on a wide range of topics related to the software engineering simulation environments.We work in a casual but professional environment with multi-disciplined teams of engineers that take pride in developing, integrating, testing and delivering innovative solutions. Failure to complete the assessment will remove you from consideration.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):10+ years of combined experience in C++, python, Ada, C, Java10+ years of combined experience in Windows and Linux Operating Systems5+ years of combined experience with real-time software architecture and design methodologies3+ years of experience with leadership in technical teams/projectsPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science10 years of experience in Aircraft requirements, aircrew trainer software, or software architecture3+ years of combined experience in containers, build systems,
or GitKnowledge of aircraft systems, including weapons, night vision system, mechanics, hydraulics, electronics, flight controls, etc.The ability to communicate with technical personnel from multiple skill areas and functions to evaluate technical information and issues impacting design, production, and support of products, services, or other deliverables.Knowledge of how to derive and allocate requirements (e.g., system, sub-system, software) and show traceability throughout the product lifecycle.Knowledge of software architecture and design methodologies. Ability to synthesize software architectures and designs that meet requirements, characteristics and constraints.Knowledge of build and execution environments that include hosts, processors, operating systems, and networks. Ability to build, integrate, test, and troubleshoot software components comprising simulation models and build/execution frameworks. Knowledge of verification, validation, certification, and qualification processes.Ability to design and develop software testing processes for different units, modules or components of a software application as a combined and integrated entity.
