This is a senior technical leadership role overseeing electrical design, documentation, and system commissioning for multi-million-dollar equipment builds.

Senior Electrical Engineer

Location:
Columbia, SC (Onsite with travel to subcontractor and customer sites)

Compensation:
$120,000–$140,000 base salary

What will your day look like?

  • Develop and maintain detailed electrical schematics, panel layouts, and load calculations using AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Generate and revise engineering drawings based on P&IDs, specifications, and internal standards.
  • Coordinate with fabricators and technicians to ensure electrical assemblies meet quality and safety requirements.
  • Conduct factory acceptance tests, troubleshoot issues, and lead resolution efforts prior to shipment.
  • Travel domestically to install and commission systems, working independently to meet tight schedules.
  • Document all QA/QC activities, maintain revision control, and prepare data packages for customer review.

Who are you?

  • Experienced Electrical Engineer:
    7+ years in industrial or highly regulated fabrication environments, with proven success in complex equipment design.
  • AutoCAD Proficient:
    Strong command of AutoCAD Electrical for creating and updating control and power schematics.
  • Code-Savvy:
    Deep knowledge of NEC and related electrical standards, with the ability to apply them in practical design and field settings.
  • Detail-Oriented:
    Exceptional at translating P&IDs and mechanical prints into safe, code-compliant electrical systems.
  • Problem Solver:
    Skilled in fault analysis, root-cause identification, and implementing robust corrective actions.
  • Effective Communicator:
    Able to influence and mentor cross-functional teams, and to present technical concepts clearly to stakeholders.
  • Self-Starter:
    Comfortable traveling and working with minimal supervision to drive projects to completion.
  • Degree Preferred:
    Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline; equivalent experience will be considered.
