Bookkeeper – Month-End Close & Multi-Entity Accounting

About the Role

Taxman Hospitality Group is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Bookkeeper to support and own month-end accounting across a growing portfolio of hospitality and real estate entities. This role is ideal for someone with a strong bookkeeping or accounting foundation who wants hands-on responsibility, clear ownership, and the opportunity to grow within a fast-paced, operator-led organization.

This is not a Controller role. You'll work closely with ownership (CPA-led) and focus on accurate execution, clean month-end close, and maintaining well-organized financial records across multiple entities.

Key Responsibilities

Month-End Close & Core Accounting

• Own and execute month-end close for assigned entities
• Prepare and post accruals, journal entries, and adjustments
• Reconcile balance sheet and income statement accounts
• Maintain accurate intercompany balances and resolve discrepancies
• Support preparation of monthly financial statements for review

Transactional & Ongoing Bookkeeping

• Oversee daily QuickBooks activity, including sales, deposits, and vendor invoices
• Ensure transactions are coded accurately and consistently across entities
• Review AP/AR activity for accuracy and completeness
• Maintain organized documentation and reconciliation support

Compliance & Recurring Items

• Track and ensure proper accounting treatment of recurring monthly obligations (sales tax, excise tax, utilities, payroll-related items)
• Coordinate with internal team members to confirm payments and documentation
• Flag missing, late, or unusual activity for review

Collaboration & Process Improvement

• Work closely with ownership and operations teams to resolve discrepancies
• Help improve accounting processes, checklists, and month-end workflows
• Support year-end close, audits, and special projects as needed

What We're Looking For

• 2–5 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
• Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks (multi-entity experience preferred)
• Comfort owning month-end close and recurring accounting processes
• High attention to detail and strong follow-through
• Willingness to ask questions, escalate issues, and take ownership
• Hospitality, retail, or multi-location business experience is a plus
