Summary

Keen Home Care has an immediate opening for a Full-Time Float Caregiver to join our care team. This role is essential in supporting our clients and staff by providing consistent, reliable coverage across a variety of shifts and client needs. With a guaranteed 40 hours per week, this position offers stability while allowing you to build strong experience working with seniors in their homes.

As a Float Caregiver, you will step in where needed — helping cover shorter shifts, filling in for caregivers on leave, and supporting new or ongoing cases. Your flexibility and reliability help ensure our clients receive the compassionate, quality care they deserve, and allows our leadership and staffing teams to focus on running operations smoothly.

Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on care, companionship, and emotional support
  • Assist clients with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, mobility)
  • Support simple meal preparation, light housekeeping, and client safety
  • Follow the established care plan and communicate updates to the office
  • Travel between client homes in Long Beach and surrounding cities
  • Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of care provided.
  • Ensure a safe and clean environment by performing light housekeeping tasks.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and their families to ensure quality care.
  • Help cover shorter 4-hour shifts and schedule gaps as needed — you are part of the core team that keeps care running smoothly

Requirements

  • 2+ years professional caregiving experience (home care, facility, or similar)
  • Registered Home Care Aide (HCA) or willing to register
  • Valid CA Driver's License, reliable vehicle, and auto insurance (required)
  • Must be able to work weekends as part of your schedule
  • Able to pass background check, reference check, TB test, physical, and CPR/First Aid
  • Comfortable with a flexible schedule and stepping into different client environments

  • Mix of day, evening, and weekend shifts
  • Must be comfortable traveling to multiple client homes
