Sterile Processing Coordinator – 2nd Shift (3 PM – 11:30 PM)
Location: Long Beach, CA
Contract Length: 13 weeks (Contract-to-Hire)

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Sterile Processing Coordinator to oversee daily operations within the Sterile Processing Department (SPD). The Coordinator will supervise technicians, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, maintain high-quality sterilization processes, and support continuous improvement initiatives. This is a local, contract-to-permanent opportunity with a reputable healthcare organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise sterile processing technicians and create/adjust shift assignments.
- Oversee decontamination, assembly, sterilization, and distribution workflows.
- Ensure compliance with ANSI/AAMI standards, manufacturer IFUs, SOPs, and infection control guidelines.
- Conduct and review quality assurance audits and documentation.
- Train, mentor, and support SPD staff, including competency development.
- Coordinate equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and service requests.
- Partner with leadership on scheduling, timekeeping, and operational goals.
- Collaborate with clinical departments to ensure timely delivery of sterile instruments.
- Promote a safe and compliant work environment.
- Assist with inventory, supply management, and ordering needs.
- Support performance improvement initiatives and KPI monitoring.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- Provide direct supervision to all sterile processing staff during assigned shift.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of sterile processing experience.
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory or leadership experience in healthcare or manufacturing.
- CRCST certification required.
- Strong knowledge of sterilization standards, OSHA regulations, and infection control.
- Familiarity with medical device reprocessing and surgical instrumentation.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and timekeeping systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- CIS and/or CHL certification.
- College degree or 3+ years of leadership experience.
Shift & Schedule
- 2nd Shift: 3 PM – 11:30 PM
- 40 hours per week / 5 days per week
- Start Date: December 15, 2025
- 13-week contract with potential to convert to a permanent position.
