Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Medical/Administrative Assistant to join our team. This role offers an opportunity to support clinical and administrative operations within a busy Ophthalmology/ Oculofacial plastic surgery practice. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems, and a commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Bilingual abilities and clinic experience are highly valued to enhance patient service and office efficiency.

Duties

  • Manage documentation review to ensure accurate patient records.
  • Utilize our tools and online portals and dashboard to verify insurance eligibility.
  • Utilize EMR systems such as Nextech for data entry, Charting and record management
  • Schedule patient appointments, manage front desk operations, and handle multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette
  • Assist with patient intake processes, including collecting medical collections and updating health information management records
  • Maintain organized filing systems for medical records and ensure compliance with HIPAA standards
  • Support clinical staff with care plan documentation, medical coding, and billing procedures
  • Perform Medical tasks under supervision like checking vision and other tasks.
  • Provide excellent customer service to patients both in person and via phone, ensuring a positive experience during visits or inquiries

Experience

  • Prior clinic or medical office experience preferred; Ophthalmology clinic or plastic surgery experience is a plus
  • Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Nextech or similar Platforms. s
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding, CPT coding, and Medicare billing processes.
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and health information management software
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and record keeping
  • Bilingual candidates are highly encouraged to apply to better serve diverse patient populations
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information in compliance with HIPAA regulations

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $ $22.00 per hour
