The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and hands-on Assistant Lodge Manager to support the General Manager in all aspects of lodge operations. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver, a natural leader, and committed to fostering a positive and efficient work environment.

Key Responsibilities

The Assistant Lodge Manager's role is critical to both staff development and property maintenance. Core duties include:

  • Staff Leadership & Training:
  • Develop, implement, and lead comprehensive training programs for all new hires (Front Desk, Housekeeping, Maintenance, etc.).
  • Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and professional development to the existing team.
  • Actively work to keep the team motivated and foster a culture of exceptional guest service and teamwork.
  • Operational & Property Oversight:
  • Conduct daily and frequent property walks to ensure all guest areas, grounds, and facilities meet the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and operational efficiency.
  • Coordinate with Maintenance and Housekeeping to promptly address any property-related issues.
  • Administrative & Financial Support:
  • Assist with payroll preparation and review, ensuring accuracy of hours, tips, and time-off requests.
  • Manage inventory for supplies and place orders as needed.
  • Guest Service & Coverage:
  • Serve as the Manager on Duty as scheduled or required.
  • Be prepared to cover shifts at the front desk (or other departments) when staff call out, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to ensure uninterrupted service.
  • Handle escalated guest complaints and resolve issues professionally and efficiently.

Qualifications & Skills

  • 2+ years of experience in a supervisory or management role, preferably within the hospitality, hotel, or lodge industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to train, mentor, and motivate a diverse team.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, especially with financial tasks like payroll.
  • Must be physically able to conduct frequent property walks and stand/sit for extended periods.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work a varied schedule, including covering last-minute call-outs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
