Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the clinical team by providing exceptional chairside assistance, managing patient care, and ensuring smooth clinic operations. This role requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, infection control protocols, and medical documentation. The Dental Assistant will work closely with dentists and hygienists to deliver high-quality dental care across various specialties including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Experience with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, and Epic is preferred. The position offers an engaging environment where professionalism, compassion, and technical skills are highly valued.
Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including restorations, extractions, root canals, and pediatric treatments
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available
- Take and develop dental X-rays while adhering to HIPAA regulations and infection control standards
- Manage patient records using EMR systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic; ensure accuracy in medical documentation and coding
- Perform vital signs assessment and medical imaging as needed for patient evaluation
- Maintain aseptic techniques to prevent infection and ensure a sterile environment
- Educate patients on oral health care instructions and post-treatment care
- Support front desk duties as a dental receptionist when necessary, including scheduling appointments and managing patient flow
- Assist with 3D scanning procedures and other advanced imaging technologies in the practice
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols related to anatomy knowledge, infection control, and medical records management
Experience
- Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred
- Proficiency with dental software such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic is desirable
- Knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical coding practices is essential
- Experience with pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, or general dentistry is advantageous
- Familiarity with X-ray procedures, chairside assisting techniques (including four-handed dentistry), and aseptic techniques is required
- Ability to demonstrate strong anatomy knowledge and infection control practices
- Certification in radiography or X-ray technology is a plus
- Previous experience supporting pediatric patients or working within pediatric dentistry environments is beneficial
Job Type: Full-time
