DevOps Engineer (Temp Assignment)

The Foundation is seeking a DevOps/Automation Engineer for our Information Technology.
Position Summary:
The Mellon IT team is looking for DevOps Engineer to support the Cloud infrastructure for the Mellon business applications and build an automation framework to improve manual processes. The DevOps Engineer will report to Director, Enterprise Architecture and Engineering.
The engineer will work on multiple projects with various technology stacks and collaborate with internal and external teams.
Position Description:
Responsibilities may include, but will not be limited to:
- Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions to support continuous integration and deployment.
- Implement and manage infrastructure as code (IaC) with Terraform across AWS and other cloud-based environments.
- Ensure high system reliability and performance through monitoring, alerting, log aggregation, and dashboards using Datadog.
- Collaborate with engineering team to automate deployment, scaling, and system management tasks.
- Support SRE practices, including incident response, observability, and postmortem investigation.
- Manage Netlify hosted frontend deployments.
- Manage Snowflake cloud hosted data environment, including User and RBAC controls, and external application integrations.
- Manage MuleSoft application deployment with Runtime Manager.
- Work with Security engineers and implement recommended security best practices.
- Create and maintain technical documentation.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical teammates.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field is preferable.
- 5+ years of working knowledge of AWS Cloud
- 3+ years of working knowledge of DevOps and application deployment processes
- 3+ hands on experience working with highly scalable web applications.
- In-depth automation experience using configuration management tools.
- Experience working with Containerization technology.
- Experience working GitHub code repository.
- Excellent troubleshooting and debugging skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong understanding of testing & QA processes.
- Strong understanding of security best practices and implementing secure products.
- Experience working with data warehousing platforms like Snowflake is plus.

Mellon is committed to providing compensation that is competitive and equitable within the philanthropic sector. The hourly pay rate for this role is $ $85.00 (annualized to $146,000 - $165,000). The amount of pay offered is determined by several factors, including but not limited to qualifications, unique skills, credentials, or experience that is expected to impact the candidate's contribution to the role. We also consider market data as well as the Foundation's internal pay equity framework.
Please note that Mellon maintains a hybrid work schedule, with three days per week in person at the Foundation's Manhattan offices.
