We are seeking a reliable Shipping Clerk for our Columbus, Ohio logistics center. This position is vital for ensuring that all outgoing shipments are accurately processed, documented, and dispatched. The Shipping Clerk will manage the preparation of orders for shipment, coordinate with carriers, and maintain all necessary shipping documentation. A strong commitment to accuracy and efficiency is required, as is the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced shipping department. Safety is paramount, and all team members are expected to adhere to rigorous safety standards. You will play a key role in our supply chain, ensuring timely delivery to our valued customers.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare orders for shipment by picking, packing, and labeling items accurately.
- Verify shipment contents against order details and shipping manifests.
- Process shipments using various carrier software and systems.
- Schedule and coordinate pickups with shipping carriers.
- Ensure all shipping documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with regulations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shipping area.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including the correct use of PPE.
- Track shipments and respond to inquiries regarding delivery status.
- Assist with inventory management tasks as directed.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in shipping, logistics, or a related warehouse role.
- Ability to lift up to 45 pounds.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in using computers and shipping software (e.g., UPS WorldShip, FedEx Ship Manager).
- Familiarity with common shipping carriers and their procedures.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
- Commitment to workplace safety and following all safety guidelines.
