Principal Systems Engineer

Overview

SCCI is seeking a skilled Principle Systems Engineer to join our team In this position, you will provide technical expertise and engineering development support for a Combat Systems Engineering contract. This position may require occasional travel and is in support of future work expected in 2027. This position is located in Dahlgren, VA.

Responsibilities:

• Provide technical expertise and engineering development support
• Coordinating development activities for engineering systems and capabilities
• Conducting detailed and complex system engineering independently, including experience in functional and system level requirements analysis, requirements generation, and technical review

Essential Skills and Experience:

• Must be a U.S. Citizen and have an Active Secret Security Clearance
• Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline
• Minimum of fifteen (15) years experience in at least one of the following:
  • Combat Systems Cyber Security
  • Ships Self Defense System
  • Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) class
  • Aegis Integrated Combat Systems
  • DDG-1000 Zumwalt class destroyer
  • Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense
  • Weapon/Sensor Combat Systems
• Must have experience in Dynamic Object-Oriented Requirement System (DOORS) or DOORS Next system
• Extensive experience in developing Functional Area Assessment (FAA) and working with Mission Area Assessments (MAA) in relation to engineering tasks
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
