The Shipping Coordinator, 2nd Shift is responsible for coordinating daily outbound shipping operations to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant delivery of finished goods to customers. This role serves as the execution link between Production, Materials, Logistics, and Transportation by managing shipments, documentation, system transactions, and dock flow. The Shipping Coordinator operates primarily on the production and shipping floor and plays a critical role in maintaining on-time delivery performance, inventory accuracy, and customer satisfaction.
Essential Functions

- Coordinate daily outbound shipments based on customer requirements, production completion, and carrier schedules.
- Prioritize shipments to meet customer delivery commitments and service-level expectations.
- Verify shipment accuracy, including product, quantities, packaging, and labeling.
- Support dock scheduling, load sequencing, and trailer turn times.
- Execute and validate shipping transactions in WMS and related systems, including shipment creation, packing confirmation, bill of lading generation, and shipment closing.
- Ensure accuracy of all shipping documentation, including BOLs, packing lists, and customer-specific documents.
- Troubleshoot system errors, transaction failures, and data discrepancies to ensure alignment between physical shipments and system records.
- Coordinate staging of finished goods for shipment.
- Monitor finished goods inventory to ensure accurate allocation and availability.
- Partner with Production and Inventory Control to resolve shortages, mis-picks, or staging issues.
- Support cycle counts and outbound inventory audits as needed.
- Serve as the primary communication link between Shipping, Production, Planning, Materials, and Customer Service.
- Communicate shipment status, delays, and recovery actions in real time.
- Proactively identify risks related to missed shipments, carrier delays, incorrect documentation, inventory variances, and dock congestion.
- Escalate issues to the appropriate level based on severity and customer impact.
- Support containment and recovery actions to protect customer delivery commitments.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and shipping regulations.
- Support 5S, standard work, and continuous improvement initiatives within the shipping area.
- Identify opportunities to improve shipping efficiency, system accuracy, and dock flow.
- Participate in all TVS SCS quality and excellence initiatives.

Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 2–4 years of experience in a shipping, logistics, warehouse, or distribution coordination role in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Hands-on experience with WMS required.
- Experience working across multiple systems and platforms in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong working knowledge of outbound shipping processes, documentation, and carrier coordination.
- Forklift certification required or ability to obtain certification upon hire.
- Experience in high-volume manufacturing, assembly, or distribution environments preferred.
- RF scanning experience preferred.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak and hear and may be exposed to high forklift traffic, moving equipment, and a fast-paced warehouse or manufacturing environment. The role frequently requires standing, walking, use of hands to handle, feel, and operate controls, and reaching with hands and arms. The employee may occasionally be required to lift up to 51 pounds independently; lifting items exceeding 51 pounds requires assistance. Vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
This job is performed in a complex manufacturing environment with multiple workstations, heavy machinery and frequent forklift traffic. The facility is subject to seasonal temperature changes. Employees must wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including steel-toed shoes with metatarsal protection and any additional equipment as specified by company safety guidelines.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
Full-Time, Non-Exempt. Schedule flexibility for extended or unplanned work hours is required.
