WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

DCC is currently seeking a full-time, experienced Ropeway Maintenance Technician for the gondola system at Sterling Vineyards in Calistoga, California.

The Ropeway Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventive and corrective maintenance to all Sterling Gondola system components. The Ropeway Maintenance Technician also assists in troubleshooting and resolving operational disturbances. The Ropeway Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventative and corrective maintenance. The Ropeway Maintenance Technician reports to the Shift Manager assigned to oversee their respective shift.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs daily preventive and corrective maintenance on all possible components in compliance with manuals and in accordance with the maintenance schedule, training and/or prescribed procedure.
  • Supports the daily upkeep of the system and maintenance facilities.
  • Provides break relief to the Ropeway Operating Technician as requested by Management.
  • Supports response to and resolution of operational disturbances and emergencies in compliance with training and/or prescribed procedures.
  • Troubleshoots/diagnoses mechanical/electrical problems and repair or replace mechanical/electrical components as necessary.
  • Completes accurate maintenance logs in a timely manner.
  • Follows all Company-issued maintenance procedures and directives to ensure that all preventative and corrective maintenance is performed safely and in compliance with manufacturers' specifications and applicable industry standards.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to work at heights up to 100 feet.
  • Ability to perform passenger rope rescue special operations.
  • Ability to adopt a "hands-on" approach to solve mechanical / electrical problems.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • The ability to climb stairs as part of a regular routine.
  • To be able to walk up to 3 miles per day.
  • The ability to work with one's hands in repeated motions.
  • To be able to stand for long periods of time.
  • The ability to stay alert during shifts.
  • The ability to follow directions both verbally and written.
  • To be able to address customers in a professional manner.
  • To be able to do work at heights.
  • To be able to lift forty pounds.
  • Computer literate and proficient a plus.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to prepare and maintain records and complete forms and reports clearly and accurately in a timely manner.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Preferred 2 years of experience with applicable mechanical or electrical work. This includes ropeway maintenance, industrial mechanical work, industrial automation, conveyance system maintenance work, electrical installation, or maintenance work.
  • Certification in the Electrical Trade, Millwright Trade or Aircraft Maintenance Trade is a plus
  • Experience with and working knowledge of the principles and practices of mechanical /electrical engineering design.
  • Experience with and working knowledge of the principles and practices of mechanical / electrical equipment and materials.
  • Experience with and working knowledge of using and following O&M Manuals, including reading, and understanding of engineering drawings.
  • Experience with and working knowledge of methods and techniques of field measuring and testing.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $ $35.50 per hour
