We are hiring a Business Development Analyst with a minimum of two years of full-time business development experience. This is not an entry-level role. Candidates must have direct experience supporting or driving sales, prospecting, pipeline management, proposal development, or revenue-generating activities in a business development or commercial function.

Position Information


• Position Title: Business Development Analyst


• Department: Commercial


• Reports To: VP Commercial (or CEO on interim basis)


• Location: Richmond, CA


• FLSA Status: Exempt


• Compensation Range: $70,000 – $95,000 base + bonus

Position Overview

The Business Development Analyst provides the data, research, and operational support that powers UBS's growth engine. This role strengthens how UBS identifies opportunities, manages pipeline, builds proposals, and makes informed decisions. The Analyst works closely with leadership across Business Development, Operations, and Finance to support predictable, scalable revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership and Culture

• Improve communication and alignment between Business Development and Operations.

Market Intelligence and Targeting


• Build and maintain prospect lists across commercial, municipal, property management, and other sectors.


• Track RFP calendars, decision makers, and procurement cycles.


• Monitor competitor pricing and positioning.


• Provide insights that guide which opportunities UBS should prioritize.

Pipeline and CRM Management


• Maintain accurate CRM data for leads, bids, proposals, and wins.


• Build and manage automated outbound sequences and drip campaigns to nurture prospects and strengthen pipeline activity.


• Enforce CRM standards and workflows.


• Produce dashboards and periodic pipeline reports, forecasts, and hit-rate analyses.

Bid and Proposal Support


• Prepare proposals including cover letters, pricing tables, and attachments.


• Coordinate timelines across Operations, Finance, and HR.


• Maintain a library of templates, past submissions, and supporting materials.


• Assist with preparation for finalist presentations or site walks.

Financial and Competitive Analysis


• Analyze labor assumptions, supply costs, margins, and competitor patterns.


• Support pricing models and revenue forecasting.


• Identify risks in scopes, timelines, and labor requirements.


• Provide data that informs bid go or no-go decisions.

Systems and Modernization


• Use AI tools to increase research speed, improve proposal quality, and streamline recurring workflows.


• Support rollout of improved CRM and sales systems.


• Standardize naming, data inputs, and document storage.


• Strengthen reporting, visibility, and cross-functional data flows.


• Help build scalable processes aligned with the UBS 5-Year Plan.

Qualifications


• Bachelor's degree in business, economics, marketing, analytics, or a related field required


• Two to four years in business development, sales operations, analytics, finance, or similar


• Strong Excel and data analysis skills


• Experience with CRM systems


• Strong written and verbal communication skills


• Must pass background check
