Team Modern is a Somerset-based company providing a variety of business solutions through five specialized divisions, including wholesale distribution, vending, equipment sales and service, signs and graphics, and amusement.
This position supports our Vending Division, specifically within our full-scale Dining Center operation located inside the Valley Oak Commerce Complex at TTAI – one of our largest customer sites. The Dining Center serves fresh, made-on-site meals to employees across multiple shifts, combining quality food service with a customer-focused experience.
What You'll Do:
As a 2nd shift Dining Center Associate, you'll be part of the team serving fresh, made-on-site meals to employees at our largest customer location. You'll assist with preparing ingredients, cooking and serving food, and keeping the kitchen and dining areas clean and organized. This role combines food prep and customer service with the goal of making each mealtime a positive experience. You'll also help with cash handling and follow all safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure smooth and safe operations. Throughout it all, you'll represent Team Modern's core values – Optimistic Energy, Fairness, Teamwork, Customer Focus, and Gratitude.
Essential Functions
- Prepare ingredients by measuring, cutting, chopping, slicing, and washing vegetables, meats, and other items in accordance with written recipes and using commercial cooking equipment.
- Follow approved recipes and production standards to ensure proper food quality, serving temperatures, and portion control.
- Serve food to customers efficiently and courteously.
- Accurately handle cash transactions using the designated point-of-sale system.
- Maintain well-stocked and organized beverage, condiment, and utensil stations.
- Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines during preparation and service.
- Communicate effectively with team members, management, and customers to address concerns, feedback, or special requests promptly and professionally.
- Perform daily cleaning tasks including dishwashing, sweeping, mopping, and trash removal to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Complete food production and service records as required.
- Any additional task assigned by manager; duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and guidelines.

Ideal Candidate Profile:
To succeed in this role, candidates should be dependable, team-oriented, and eager to provide a positive dining experience. The following skills and experience are preferred:
- Prior experience in food service or customer-facing roles.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Basic knowledge of safe food handling practices.
- Willingness to work overtime or occasional Saturdays, based on customer needs.
- Friendly, approachable demeanor and commitment to excellent customer service.
Work Schedule:
- 2nd Shift: Monday–Friday, 3:30 p.m. – 12:00 a.m.; overtime as needed
Physical Demands:
This position requires frequent standing and walking, and occasional lifting, bending, pushing, or pulling. Must be able to lift and move up to 25 pounds regularly.
Working Conditions:
Work takes place inside the Dining Center located within our customer's facility (TTAI), which is well-lit, climate-controlled, and professionally maintained.
