Summary

We are seeking a passionate Cook to join our team at Margaret Pratt Community. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing nutritious meals that cater to the dietary needs of our residents. Your culinary skills will contribute significantly to enhancing the quality of life for our community members.

Schedule: Full-Time | Day Shift with some dinners until 7pm.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a variety of meals according to established recipes and dietary guidelines.
• Ensure that all food is prepared in a safe and sanitary manner, adhering to food safety standards.
• Assist in meal planning and inventory management for kitchen supplies.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area, including proper food storage practices.
• Monitor food quality and presentation before serving to residents.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Cook.
• Ability to follow recipes, portion control, and dietary guidelines.
• Knowledge of safe food handling, sanitation procedures, and kitchen safety.
• Experience preparing meals for special diets (e.g., modified/therapeutic) is a plus.
• Strong time management and multi-tasking skills in a fast-paced kitchen.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team-oriented environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred, but not required).
• ServSafe certification or willingness to obtain upon hire (preferred).
