High School Computer Science Teacher

We are seeking a High School Computer Science Teacher. The ideal candidate will provide engaging instruction in computer science fundamentals, including programming, computational thinking, and digital literacy, while preparing students to thrive in a rapidly evolving technological world.

Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver standards-aligned lessons in computer science to High School students.
• Introduce students to programming languages such as Python, Java, or JavaScript.
• Foster critical thinking, problem-solving, and ethical technology use in the classroom.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of a diverse student population, including students with IEPs and 504 plans.
• Maintain accurate records of student performance and provide timely, constructive feedback.
• Integrate technology into daily instruction and support students in project-based learning experiences.
• Participate in school-wide initiatives, staff meetings, professional development, and extracurricular opportunities as appropriate.
• Uphold the school's mission, values, and expectations for professionalism and student engagement.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Instructional Technology, or a related field.
• North Carolina teaching license or eligibility for licensure in Computer Science or related subject area.
• Knowledge of core programming principles and current technology applications in education.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Education, or related field
• Two or more years of successful teaching experience at the high school level
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency with technology and digital learning platforms

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience teaching computer science or STEM courses at the secondary level.
• Familiarity with coding platforms, cybersecurity, data analysis, and/or robotics.
• International Baccalaureate (MYP or DP) experience

Compensation:

• Based upon experience, degree/certification, NC State Salary Guide and the Union County Teacher Supplement.
