Duties

• Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and specialty drinks with precision and care.
• Engage with customers warmly, taking orders accurately and providing friendly, attentive service.
• Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS to process transactions efficiently and accurately.
• Manage cash handling responsibilities, including cash register operations and balancing at shift's end.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, including food preparation stations and seating areas.
• Follow food safety protocols and proper food handling procedures to ensure a safe environment for guests and staff.
• Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as assembling sandwiches or snacks when needed.
• Manage time effectively during busy periods to serve customers promptly while maintaining quality standards.
• Support inventory management by restocking supplies and notifying supervisors of low stock levels.
• Uphold excellent customer service standards by addressing guest inquiries, resolving issues promptly, and creating a welcoming atmosphere.
• Adhere to all health regulations related to food industry practices and café operations.

Qualifications

• Previous barista experience or strong interest in coffee culture is preferred; enthusiasm for learning is essential.
• Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is advantageous but not required—training will be provided.
• Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively in fast-paced environments; multitasking skills are vital.
• Strong customer service skills with a positive attitude and excellent communication abilities.
• Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math calculations, and transaction processing.
• Knowledge of food safety standards, proper food handling techniques, and food preparation procedures.
• Experience in food service or retail environments is beneficial; a background in the food industry helps understand operational flow.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate weights, and work flexible hours including weekends or evenings if needed.
