The Safety Manager monitors safety and health regulations and provides technical support to Denham-Blythe jobsites to ensure compliance with federal and state regulatory agencies. The Safety Manager is responsible for coordinating with the Corporate Safety Director to establish best practices in safety.
Essential Functions
- Evaluates working conditions and recommends improvements in safety and health methods, practices, and procedures.
- Responsible for project safety orientation and contractor badging when assigned project requires.
- Participates or facilitates daily safety meetings and toolbox talks.
- Ensures that all equipment utilized on a DB project has been inspected and documented daily prior to use.
- Ensures that all materials utilized on the jobsite has a SDS readily available.
- Responsible for conducting a site safety audit to ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies.
- Responsible for working side-by-side with site superintendent to ensure jobsite compliance with all EH&S regulatory agencies, DB policies, and customer guidelines.
- Maintains current records of all project inspections per contractor.
- Works with designers, project managers, and superintendents to help build safety measures into the design and subcontractor bid packages.
- Reviews all injury and noninjury incidents and prepares incident reports and conducts investigations of incidents.
- Maintains safety records for all onsite subcontractors.
- Acts as a liaison to customer safety and management staff.
- Reviews all subcontractor safety documentation.
- Attends construction progress meetings and provides safety statistics on a weekly basis (hours, safe hours, incidents)
- Up to 50% of travel to jobsites, including overnight travel

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this project, the employee is regularly required to talk or listen and frequently required to stand or walk. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 25 pounds. May work under extreme conditions.
Education And Experience
- Bachelor's degree in occupational safety or a safety science
- Eight to ten years' of safety experience
- Knowledge of construction and industrial operations
Other Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Must be willing to submit to a Drug Screen and Background Check
- Must be eligible for work in the United States.
