Our Durham, North Carolina facility is looking for a meticulous Shipping Clerk to manage the outbound flow of goods. As a Shipping Clerk, you will be responsible for preparing, verifying, and dispatching outgoing shipments accurately and efficiently. This role is critical to our logistics operations, ensuring that orders leave our warehouse correctly and on schedule. You will work with various shipping carriers, generate shipping labels, and ensure all documentation is complete and accurate. A keen eye for detail and a commitment to safety are essential. This position requires organizational skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced shipping environment.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare outgoing shipments, including packaging and labeling.
- Verify shipment contents against order details and packing lists.
- Generate shipping labels and process shipments through various carrier systems.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers for pickup and delivery schedules.
- Ensure all shipments are properly documented and meet carrier requirements.
- Maintain a clean and organized shipping area.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and wear appropriate PPE.
- Assist with inventory counts and related tasks as needed.
- Communicate any shipping discrepancies or issues to supervisors.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a related logistics role.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Strong organizational and attention to detail skills.
- Proficiency with computers and shipping software.
- Familiarity with various shipping carriers (e.g., UPS, FedEx, USPS).
- Basic understanding of warehouse and logistics operations.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
