Our distribution center in Richmond, Virginia, is actively looking for experienced Forklift Operators to enhance our logistics operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials throughout the warehouse using various types of forklifts. This role is vital for ensuring the smooth flow of inventory and timely processing of shipments. We are dedicated to maintaining a secure and productive work environment, providing comprehensive training on safety procedures, including the proper use of PPE.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts to move, stack, and retrieve inventory within the warehouse.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and trailers safely and accurately.
- Conduct daily pre-operation inspections of forklifts and report any issues.
- Maintain accurate inventory records by scanning items and updating the system.
- Organize warehouse space to maximize efficiency and accessibility of goods.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and company policies, emphasizing the use of PPE.
- Collaborate with the warehouse team to meet operational goals and deadlines.
- Assist with shipping and receiving duties as needed.
- Participate in ongoing training to improve skills and knowledge in warehouse logistics.
- Ensure a clean and orderly work environment, free from hazards.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification and proven experience.
- Demonstrated proficiency in operating sit-down, stand-up, and reach forklifts.
- Ability to lift up to 70 pounds and work in a physically demanding environment.
- Thorough understanding of warehouse safety best practices and the critical importance of PPE.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong observational skills.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong sense of responsibility.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) is preferred.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient logistics operation.
