Our Nashville, Tennessee distribution center is seeking a diligent Receiving Clerk to manage the intake of goods. This role is vital for ensuring that all incoming shipments are accurately accounted for, inspected for damage, and processed efficiently into our inventory system. You will be the first point of contact for many inbound logistics operations, playing a key role in maintaining the integrity of our supply chain. Responsibilities include verifying purchase orders against delivered items, documenting discrepancies, and coordinating with shipping departments for timely processing. Safety is a top priority, and all employees are required to adhere to strict safety protocols, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This position requires a high degree of accuracy, organizational skills, and the physical capability to handle products, which may involve lifting. Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming inventory from various carriers.
- Verify received goods against purchase orders and shipping manifests.
- Inspect shipments for damage and report any discrepancies or issues immediately.
- Accurately record all received items into the inventory management system.
- Stage received goods for put-away by other warehouse staff.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area.
- Adhere to all safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE at all times.
- Assist with inventory counts and reconciliation as needed.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth logistics flow.
- Ability to handle duties involving lifting and moving of packages.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a receiving or warehouse role is preferred.
- Proficiency in using inventory management software is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Knowledge of basic logistics and supply chain processes.
- Ability to lift and move items up to 40 lbs.
- Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to PPE requirements.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
