We are seeking a skilled and motivated Forklift Operator to join our dynamic logistics team in Atlanta, Georgia. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts and other warehouse equipment to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. This role is crucial to our efficient warehouse operations, ensuring timely movement of goods and maintaining inventory accuracy. Your daily tasks will involve loading and unloading trucks, picking and staging orders, and performing regular equipment inspections. Adherence to all safety regulations and company policies is paramount. You will be expected to consistently demonstrate safe operating practices, proper use of PPE, and an understanding of safe lifting techniques to prevent injuries. This position offers a stable work environment with opportunities for growth within our expanding logistics network.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse machinery.
- Load and unload shipments from trucks and trailers.
- Pick, pack, and stage orders for shipment.
- Conduct daily inspections of forklift equipment and report any issues.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow all safety guidelines and company procedures for warehouse operations.
- Assist with inventory counts and record keeping.
- Contribute to overall team efficiency and productivity.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift certification or demonstrated experience.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment preferred.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs) regularly.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be reliable and punctual.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) is a plus.
